If you didnt know UBI Soft is going to drop their first purpose built console RTS game. Tom clancy’s End War RTS Game. Now whats cool and uniqe about this game is it’s voice interface. When your playing you pull the right trigger and say things like “Unit Alpha Attack Hostile 1″ and the group of tanks would move in to attack. You can also use the controler to do this if you wanted to. Its always available not an option, so you can use the 2 in conjuntion if you wanted to. It uses modern Military hardware which should enthrall military junkies. The story is set to a future date where 3 factions were formed (US,EU,RF<Russian) and they have been warring over resources of the world,(gasp shock!) you choose which faction to fight for and then do your things. Each faction has strengths and weaknesses. They are all balanced though.

The graphics are pretty good nothing nutty like GOW or any of the other Uber bench marks. It is very cool to watch your units pummel your opponent due to good planning and execution though. Some of the effects are very cool in HD like Nuking your opponent. Ya, I like that.

It would  satisfy any other PC RTS fan out there. But, dont be looking for in depth tech trees other then your units upgrading and leveling up ala RPG style. You can also buy upgrades and equipment for your soldiers as well, and with each rank (level up) more stuff to buy is unlocked. Stealth Camo for your riflemen anyone?

Conquest for example (1 of the gametypes), when you take a comms tower it takes away tickets from your enemy’s stash just like any other conquest game.  Taking them all will win the game but you will have to hold them. When I played I was able to cheese a little bit and pin the enemy down in the spawn and well.. spawn camp them. So watch out for cheesers.. they will be rampant. This game IMO will be popular. When you do take those comms towers you get new options like WMD’s and air strikes. The TOW is connected to the online games. Picture a world map and spaces on that map connected by lines of attack. Pick a space to fight on and a map similar to that territory will be your battleground. The more wins by your collective faction more points tilts toward your side to taking that spot. Win the area and your faction can have access to other spaces on the map and fight on different maps according to the terrain.

I had an opportunity to play the game and I would give it a 7/10. Only because I felt a bit limited playing it. The voice and controls were great, worked perfectly. Just wish there were more to do in the game. I did like it immensely and it is re playable if your hardcore RTS, though mainstream players may like the Voice control that will get old fast.

There will be a demo that would be released at the end of October. Those who preordered at certain stores get access early… But, from what I see on The UBI forums something is delaying the implementation of it. See UBI Forums for details on what to do.

Ok… So I was perusing the XBOX Live marketplace and I downloaded a bunch of random games so I can grab some content for my podcast this weekend. I played some games and then came to this game War World and was amazed at the simple yet very in depth ways to play this game. The game is a mech game..but dont let that throw you as it is more of an 3rd person shooter then a mech game.

The game gives you a selection of mechs to choose from and each had its own strength and weaknesses. I mean its slandered stuff big heavily armed mechs will be slow and lanky and smaller lightly armed mechs will be fast and agile. They also have happy mediums like the longbow which is a balance of the 2. The mechs control like a top rate FPS. The controls are very responsive and will give any competitive gamer that feeling.. hmm this could be good for competition. Thats what I felt at least. Each mech can counter another so balance(as of now,no cheesing aside), look good.

The maps are great. Lots of cover . I can see teams devising strategy for each map. Lush brushes and trees to hide behind for ambushes, ruined buildings and other structures you can enter.. The maps have HILLS.. I stress hills because they are essentially a mech’s height from say sea level. So don’t expect really long distance shots. The maps are large enough to accommodate the play but small enough so people don’t get lost which makes the action nonstop.

There are the basic game types… I tried death match, but there is also Team Death Match, CTF and Bomb. I have not tried the objective games yet, I will be playing tonight If any would like to join me ..(just text INV to me on LIVE). So ill be discussing the clan portion of it in the SC Forums.

The game is an action packed game of fun.. the only issues I have is no Lobby.. but really all you have to do is set the room to private and your god. Also there were only 9 maps.. but for 10 bux in MS points (800MSP) you have a really good online multiplayer shooter suitable for clan matchs. Check it out it dropped on 10/1/08!!

ok first I am going to talk about NBA Live 09 and its new features the first feature is a big 1 and 1 I think is very cool it is called NBA 365 this feature updates the game daily so if Kobe Bryant scored 75 points yesterday I would be the Lakers the next day cause in the game he is going to have the hot hand teams will play differently daily so if u get live u will probably change what team u r through the course of the season u can also play a game from last night lets say the Celtics played the 76ers and pierce got a triple double u can replay that game and try and do it again another feature is the dna and the dna is The brain behind the game is powered by the premier analytics provider using NBA data for over 20 NBA teams, which evaluates Player DNA that breaks down how a player scores, Team DNA that rates how the players on the floor play as a unit and Tendencies that refer to the percentage a player drives left, right or shoots from each spot on the floor. This is a cool feature as well and is very realistic. another good thing about NBA live is the new international FIBA teams u can play in an international tourney just like the Olympics I would love to play as Spain I remember watching them in the Olympics they were dirty the 24 teams include

Angola

Italy

Argentina

Japan

Australia

Lithuania

Brazil

Mexico

Canada

Puerto Rico

China

Russia

Croatia

Serbia

Great Britain

Slovenia

France

South Korea

Germany

Spain

Greece

Turkey

Iran

United States

so there is NBA live for u here is 2k9 the first feature I want to talk about is the new shot stick it allows u to alter your shot in mid air so if u take a mid jumper and want to go under for the layup u could do that or lets say your going for a lay up u could fade back and take a jump shot next is adaptive air Adaptive AI will read, react, and adjust in real time to your strategies. Your teammates will initiate cuts, picks, and post-ups based on how you handle the ball, while your opponent modifies strategy to fit the pace of the game. this is very realistic and I am looking forward to seeing this there r a few new features in the franchise mode but nothing much in 2k9 the call it the association the new features Player Personalities, Ambitions, and Player Roles, a plethora of customizable options, and NEW mini-game drills make this is the deepest and most robust Franchise mode on the market. Nothing special 2k9 could do a better job also I would like to say I think the graphics r much better in this game. ok the biggest new feature in 2k9 is team play online and this will be great a lot better then it was in NBA live this will be so much fun to play w/ friends and clans and this is going to be great and very popular I suggest you try it out it will require team work to win though trust me

ok so the big question is which game should u get I have to go w/ 2k9 the game play in 2k9 does not compare w/ live its much better although live does have cool features its not worth it w/ its terrible game play 2k9 is so much more realistic and intense and NBA live is just not real at all so I think 2k9 has to be the right choice especially w/ team play now
